We would like to voice our support for Sheriff Phil Hodapp in the upcoming election for sheriff of Beltrami County.
Sheriff Hodapp understands the law and has been a career law enforcement officer for 35 years. He is the experienced sheriff of our county with an extensive law enforcement background. Before becoming sheriff 4 years ago, he served as a senior special agent with the state of Minnesota BCA (Bureau of Criminal Apprehension) here in Bemidji. He also worked as a dispatcher/ jailer for the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Department. His years in law enforcement service aincluded duties as a police officer, criminal investigator and state trooper for the state of Texas. Phil has logged over 5000 hours of extensive law enforcement training, that includes the FBI national Academy, BCA Forensic Pathology Program and Management Program, and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Training Program.
On a personal level we know Phil to be a dedicated family man, and someone who believes strongly in serving his community. He’s served on church committees and boards, worked with the DNR Youth Firearms Safety program as an instructor for the last 16 years, and still makes the time for hunting and fishing with his own family and friends.
Last, but not least, he runs a positive campaign! His extensive experience as our sheriff plus his positive attitude leads us to believe he’s the best candidate to continue to serve as Sheriff of Beltrami County.
