What does it take to be Beltrami County Sheriff?
We've been wondering about this question lately, and here’s our answer: personal integrity, law enforcement expertise, interpersonal and public communication skills, knowledge of the County and its people, ability to lead the fine group of professionals currently working as our deputies, jailors, dispatchers, support staff and volunteers. That’s a tall order to be sure, but Sheriff Phil Hodapp fits the description to a T. In fact, he has been doing it now for four years.
Phil's ethical character is unquestionable, his wide-ranging experience and outstanding training in law enforcement are facts, and his excellent communication skills are evident to those who’ve met him during his service as our sheriff. His knowledge of the County and its people is attested to by his many years living and raising his family in the Turtle River area, and his ability to lead our sheriff’s office is evident. Sheriff Phil Hodapp gets our votes.
